Death Note is a masterpiece
I swear by God. The entire thing is a climax. There's practically no boring, or even wasted, part. Everything is plot, plot, plot, plot, twist, twist, twist. And all carried out in such brilliance that there's almost nothing to criticize. This is normally very difficult: to create a realistic storyline is already a pain. If you want something to happen and there's an obstacle that could not make it happen, you have to find a believable way around it. Being successful in this is very rewarding, and is already a hint of greatness. But to create something that is not only so realistic, but also so complex that you have to reread everything is simply... genius.
And well, there's also the fact that I'm a sucker for rivalries between geniuses. Add that I do not significantly prefer L or Kira, so I'm not siding with anyone. Hence, I would not be cursing and punching the monitor in frustration if one gains the upperhand. (Like I did with Rikkaidai vs Seigaku. Now that was JUST stupid. And I haven't even watched it yet -.-;)
Or maybe I'm just ignorant. I haven't watched any episode of CSI or what have you. Maybe this kind of story turnout is commonplace, and that I only do not know any better.
But I don't care. I'm loving it :D
(For the curious, I'm already at chapter 22. How something could sustain my attention for THAT long is beyond me.)
